Have an interview and not sure if you’re fully prepared or not? There are a few things you can do to be prepared to have an interview with a candidate. Being completely prepared to have an interview will make the process go a lot smoother. If you’re curious about what steps to take to be fully prepared, then keep on reading.

Once you have either scheduled an interview or have conducted a phone interview and are ready for the in person interview, the steps below will help get you prepared to have an interview.

  • You want to make sure you email a copy of their resume to your email so no matter what you have a copy of the resume.
  • Make sure to print off a copy for yourself and whomever else is conducting the interview with you.
  • Have some questions written down so you know which questions you want to focus on in the interview.
  • Always have a notepad to take notes on. You can always add those notes into the candidates profile after the interview to keep your notes organized.

You always want to make sure you are prepared and have everything you need to have the interview. These steps will help you be successful at conducting great interviews with your candidates. Once you have completed the interview you can either send an offer letter or if the interview didn’t go as you expected, you can always send a rejection letter to keep the candidate engagement there.
